Monument record MDO44040 - Later prehistoric field system, Pamphill
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
An extensive system of banked field boundaries is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery. The system covers an area of over 70 hectares within Pamphill to the east of the Roman road (MDO5897) and south of Bradford Farm. The lynchets underlie the modern field pattern and are on a different alignment suggesting a much earlier date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
