Summary

The probable site of a Bronze Age round barrow is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the north of Ram Lane, Shapwick. It is one of a larger cemetery group. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A Bronze Age round barrow was recorded as cropmarks on 2015 Historic England oblique aerial photographs. It is defined by a ring ditch with a diameter of about 25m-30m. It is centred at ST 9394 0234. <1> The site of a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <2>. It is one of a larger group forming a barrow cemetery. It is visible as a ring ditch, 24m across and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
