A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery between the River Winterbourne and the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway immediately west of Sturminster Marshall. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project and considered to be a post medieval chalk pit or quarry.

A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [1] between the River Winterbourne and the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway immediately west of Sturminster Marshall.
