An extensive area of parallel cultivation marks is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the south of Steward's Lane, Shapwick. It is visible on recent lidar imagery and is considered to be medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow or a drainage system. The site was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
