Summary

An extensive system of perpendicular banked field boundaries is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the north and west of Westley Wood, Sturminster Marshall. The boundaries fit in with the modern field system and are therefore considered to be medieval or post medieval in date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

An extensive system of perpendicular banked field boundaries is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [1] to the north and west of Westley Wood, Sturminster Marshall. The boundaries fit in with the modern field system and are therefore considered to be medieval or post medieval in date. They cover an area of over 50 hectares and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
