Summary

A series of banked field boundaries are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the east of Swan Way, Shapwick. They are considered to form part of a field system of uncertain (prehistoric or medieval/post medieval) date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

A series of banked field boundaries are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the east of Swan Way, Shapwick [1-3]. They are considered to form part of a field system of uncertain (prehistoric or medieval/post medieval) date which covers an area of over 12 hectares and extends to the west of Swan Lane in MDO44323. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
