Summary
A sub-oval ring-ditch is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 1976. The feature is also visible on Environment Agency lidar imagery. It is considered likely to be a Bronze Age bowl barrow, although an oval barrow of possible late Neolithic/Eary Bronze Age date is also possible. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description
A sub-oval ring-ditch is visible as a cropmark in a field to the east of Tarrant Rushton on an aerial photograph dated 1976 [1]. The feature is 23.8m long by 18.3m wide overall, with the ditch being just over 2.5m wide. The feature is also visible as a sub-oval mound on Environment Agency lidar imagery [2]. It is considered likely to be a Bronze Age bowl barrow, although an oval barrow of possible late Neolithic/Eary Bronze Age date is also possible. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
