Summary

In 1857 it was reported that a spiral bronze ring ring, about one and a half inches in diameterhad been found near Compton and Melbury Abbas. The exact findspot is not known.

Full Description

A large spiral bronze ring, diameter about 1 1/2 inches, found some feet below the surface in uncultivated down-land nearCompton and Melbury Abbas. Comparable to a spiral ring found at Hod Hill, which Brailsford considers to be Iron Age. <1-2>
