Full Description
A sinuous ditched boundary, of possible prehistoric or Roman date, is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. It extends, mostly E-W, for 225m. The boundary crosses, or underlies, a possible Bronze Age round barrow (NMR Monument 1539392). It curves between ST 5822 1490, ST 5830 1488 and ST 5842 1492.
The cropmarks were interpreted and mapped during an English Heritage project on a nearby Roman Camp (Monument 1524583) <2>. All available aerial photographs of this area were examined, including those from the NMR, online sources, and the local HER. <1>
