Monument record MDO44488 - Post medieval or earlier trackway, Pimperne

Please read our .

Summary

Ditched and banked curvilinear features visible as cropmarks to the west of Pimperne on aerial photographs may be part of a trackway of possible post medieval date, although an earlier, perhaps late prehistoric, origin is also possible. The features respect a group of Bronze Age barrows at this location, with one linear cutting through one of the south easternmost barrows, indicating they are later in date. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
