Summary

A sub-circular ring ditch is visible as a cropmark to the west of Pimperne on an undated aerial photograph. The feature is located within a group of Bronze Age round barrows at this location (MDOs 4569-4577), and is considered likely to be an additional barrow associated with this barrow group, also recorded under NRHE Hob UID 209320. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

A sub-circular ring ditch is visible as a cropmark to the west of Pimperne on an undated aerial photograph. The feature measures just under 19m in diameter and is cut through the centre by a later trackway of unknown date (MDO44488). The feature is located within a group of Bronze Age round barrows at this location (MDOs 4569-4577), and is considered likely to be an additional barrow associated with this barrow group, also recorded under NRHE Hob UID 209320. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
