Summary
Medieval cultivation remains in the form of earthwork terraces on both sides of the Milborne Brook. In 1970 these features were described as being the fragmentary remains of contour strip lynchets which had been degraded by ploughing on the western side of the Brook.

Full Description
(Centred at ST 804007 and ST 804011) Fragmentary remains of Medieval strip lynchets. <1>
Between Dale Cottage and Milton Mill Clump there are three well preserved strip lynchets, parallel and regularly spaced, with an average height of 1.2m. The strip lynchets south west of Milton Mill are mutilated and fragmentary. Both areas are under grass, and are visible on air photographs. <2>
On both sides of the Milborne Brook at Milton Abbas are the fragmentary remains of contour strip lynchets; on the west side of the brook the strips have been subsequently enclosed and reploughed. <3>.
