Summary

An extensive prehistoric field system is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Enford Bottom, Durweston. The system is located in a promontory bounded by two dry valleys and runs from Folly Barn eastward into Norton Wood. The features were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project and are part of a wider field system which extends into MDO4493 to the south and MDO44666 and MDO4682 to the north and east.

Full Description

An extensive prehistoric field system is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery to the south of Enford Bottom, Durweston [1]. The system covers an area of 70 hectares located in a promontory bounded by two dry valleys, and runs from Folly Barn eastward into Norton Wood. The features were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project and are part of a wider field system which extends into MDO4493 to the south and MDO44666 and MDO4682 to the north and east.
