Summary
A Neolithic stone axe was reportedly found in the southwest corner of Melbury Park in a "curious depression", which was subsequently made into a pond by E Cunnington. During Ordnance Survey field investigation, no pond was found in the area described nor was any information obtained from local residents concerning the finding of a stone axe.
