Summary
A scatter of 24 small sub-circular extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the eastern side of Bonsley Common and into Hillcombe Coppice, Shillingstone. The features are between 5m and 9m across and fairly evenly spaced (50-100m apart). They are considered to be post medieval in date, possibly chalk pits or lime pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

A scatter of 24 small sub-circular extractive pits are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery on the eastern side of Bonsley Common and into Hillcombe Coppice, Shillingstone [1]. The features are between 5m and 9m across and fairly evenly spaced (50-100m apart). They are considered to be post medieval in date, possibly chalk pits or lime pits.
