Summary

Three small subcircular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the north and northwest of Beech Tree Farm, Winterborne Strickland. They are 10-20m across and likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project and two have since been plough-levelled.

Full Description

Three small subcircular hollows are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1947 to the north and northwest of Beech Tree Farm, Winterborne Strickland [1]. They are 10-20m across and likely to be post medieval chalk pits. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project and two have since been plough-levelled [2].
