Summary
Fragments of a later prehistoric field system are visible cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the west of Pimperne village and east of Shaftesbury Lane. The banked features cover an area of 95ha and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. This is a westward extention of the field system described in MDO44467.

Full Description
Fragments of a later prehistoric field system are visible cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery [1-2] to the west of Pimperne village and east of Shaftesbury Lane. The banked features cover an area of 95ha and were digitally recorded during the Dorset Middle Stour AI&M Project. This is a westward extention of the field system described in MDO44467. The banks forming the northwest end of the field system have previously been interpreted as a separate enclosure (MDO4565).
