Summary
A system of perpendicular banked field boundaries is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Stourpaine village. The boundaries predate the modern system of fields and are cut by the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway; they are considered to be medieval or post medieval in date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description
A system of perpendicular banked field boundaries is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the west of Stourpaine village [1]. The boundaries predate the modern system of fields and are cut by the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway; they are considered to be medieval or post medieval in date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. A small area of parallel ridges are visible within the system at ST 8555 0946; they are considered likely to be medieval or post medieval cultivation marks.
