Full Description
A number of scrapers and flint flakes were found in 1968 by P A Brown near the south perimeter of Swanworth Quarries, Sheepsleights (SY 968782). Two are delicately worked in Portland chert, confirmed by Mrs S Palmer; one is a side and end scraper, the other a sickle-shaped scraper with two small circular depressions, perhaps indication of natural pot-lid fracture. <1>
A convex scraper and a knife, bifacially retouched, were found on the surface of Swanworth Quarry, Worth Matravers. In P A Brown collection. <2>
Four Mesolithic scrapers and another worked piece were found in Swanworth Quarries, Sheepsleights. In P. A. Brown Collection. <3>
