Summary

Two bronze figurines were found on the northeast part of Duncliffe Hill. One is a small figure of a boar or pig of probable late Iron Age date, the other is a figurine depicting the Roman goddess Fortuna.

Full Description

Two bronze figurines were found on the north-east spur of Duncliffe Hill, [ST 829227] by Mr Huxter. One is Iron Age, of a pig 39mm long by 20mm high. The second is of the goddess Fortuna, probably made in the Antonine period, and bears a Cornucopia of fruit in her left hand. It is 90mm high and was intended to be mounted on a stand. <1>
