Summary
A series of unannotated hollows are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map to the east of France Farm, Pimperne. They are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits. A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery extending southwards from these hollows, it is considered to be later extension of the early 20th century quarrying. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

A series of unannotated hollows are marked on the Ordnance Survey 5th edition map [1] to the east of France Farm, Pimperne. They are considered likely to be the sites of post medieval chalk pits. A large hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery [2] extending southwards from these hollows, it is considered to be later extension of the early 20th century quarrying. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
