Full Description
(SY511951 Mappercombe shrunken village sited to Mappercombe Manor from OS 1:10000 1976) Mappercombe was once a Manor with a chapel and hamlet in the tithering of Nettlecombe, but by the C18th, the C15th manor house had become a farm. The settlement was probably once much larger as it stood on the crossroads from Laders to Nettlecombe and Shipton Gorge to Powerstock. <1-2>
