Monument record MDO45351 - World War One refuse destructor station, Tarrant Monkton
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A probable First World War refuse destructor station is partially visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1947 but subsequently has been levelled by ploughing. The site comprises a bank which defines a ring measuring 3m in diameter. The site is marked as "Destructor C" on a map of Blandford Naval Encampment and is therefore probably associated with converting area C of the camp's refuse into power.
