Summary
Linear banked and ditched features are visible as cropmarks and earthworks to the south of Dean Farm, Witchampton, on a 1947 aerial photograph and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features may be medieval field boundaries, possibly associated with the deserted medieval settlement of East Hemsworth (MDO6395) to the south. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description
Linear banked and ditched features are visible as cropmarks and earthworks to the south of Dean Farm, Witchampton, on a 1947 aerial photograph and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features are broady parallel to each other on an east-west axis, forming a series of broad strips perpendicular to the hisotric field but on the same alignment as the deserted medieval settlement of East Hemsworth (MDO6395) to the south. They may be associated medieval field boundaries or boundary banks. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
