Full Description
ST 959117. Rectangular enclosure, area 0.2 ha., visible on air photographs at end of a linear feature. <1-2>
A rectangular enclosure visible as cropmarks on air photographs. Listed by RCHME (in the Bokerley Dyke inventory) as Long Crichel 35, it is circa 40 metres by 40 metres. A linear feature, also listed as Long Crichel 35 (ST 91 SE 208) runs from its northwest corner in a west south west direction, eventually terminating on linear feature Tarrant Launceston 54 (ST 91 SE 206). The enclosure it not described in the Bokerley Dyke volume. However, one plan (Area Plan 2) shows it to have an apparent entrance gap at the southeast corner, while another (fig 46a) shows all 4 sides to be continuous. It appears to be integral with the linear, and both are presumed to be of later prehistoric date.
