Summary
A post medieval brickworks to the south of Jubilee Cottages, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as earthworks and ruined structures on 1940s aerial photographs. The feature comprises a large area of clay extraction and a cluster of brick kilns and other structures shown on the OS 1st and 2nd Edition maps and named as Jubilee Brickworks on the OS 3rd Edition map. The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description
A post medieval brickworks to the south of Jubilee Cottages, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as earthworks and ruined structures on 1940s aerial photographs [1]. The feature comprises a large area of clay extraction and a cluster of brick kilns and other structures shown on the OS 1st and 2nd Edition maps and named as Jubilee Brickworks on the OS 3rd Edition map [2-4]. The OS Epoch a5 1:2500 map shows the earthworks and the structures as 'ruins' [5]The feature was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. It is now under modern housing development.
