Monument record MDO45640 - Historic field boundaries and trackway, Boker's Farm, Lytchett Matravers
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Linear banked field boundaries and an associated trackway at Boker's Farm, Lytchett Matravers are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are narrow and linear and form a coherent group of field boundaries of potentially post medieval date, although some may be earlier in origin. The features appear to overlie earlier cultivation marks that extend across the northern most field, potentially medieval ridge and furrow (MDO45639) - although it is possible that they are all part of a contemporary field system. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
