Summary

A later prehistoric multi-vallate settlement enclosure is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the south of Tarrant, Spetisbury. It appears to have an entrance of the north east side with a possible trackway running east/southeastward from the entrance. The enclosure sites in a series of conjoined enclosures or fields and a second multi-ditched feature, possibly a trackway runs NE-SW along the northwest edge of the enclosure complex which is considered likely to be of Late Bronze Age or Iron Age date. The features cover an area of 11 hectares and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM.
