Summary

An extensive system of parallel features is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the west of Thornicombe, Blandford St Mary. They are considered likely to be the remains of a field system of medieval or later date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM Project.

Full Description

An extensive system of parallel features is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar imagery to the west of Thornicombe, Blandford St Mary <1-2>. The features cover an area of over 30 hectares and are considered likely to be the remains of a field system of medieval or later date and were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM Project.
