Summary

An extensive bank and ditched field system of possible later prehistoric origin is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and low earthworks on lidar imagery. The system appears to have been reused in the medieval period; it covers much of the northern portion of the parish of Charlton Marshall and extends northwards into Blandford St Mary and to the south into Spetisbury, in all covering over 420 hectares. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM Project.

An extensive bank and ditched field system of possible later prehistoric origin is visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs and low earthworks on lidar imagery.
