Full Description
Cropmarks at SY 8355 9634 of a possible Bronze Age round barrow coinciding with the cropmark of a rectangular enclosure of uncertain later prehistoric date which either pre-dates or post-dates the barrow. The round barrow has an apparent break in its ditch to the east at the point that the rectangular enclosure extends across and beyond the ring ditch. The western end of the rectangular enclosure sits neatly within the ring ditch. The interior of the barrow appears paler than the surrounding crop suggesting the presence of more chalky material showing through the crop, possiby the remains of the barrow mound. A second smaller ring ditch of a probable round barrow (NRHE 1622920) is located immediately to the south. <1>
