Full Description

Linear banked and ditched features to the northwest of Corfe Mullen, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The features comprise three curvilinear banked features that decsribe an irregular enclosure within a larger historic field. A ditched linear feature continues the line of the easternmost curvilinear bank, heading south into Spur Copse. The ditched feature may be part of a trackway but nothing is recorded on historic OS mapping. The features are considered likely to be historic field boundaries and/or trackways of possible medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
