Summary
A World War II type 25 pillbox located on high ground above Abbotsbury Beach car park. It is circular on plan, constructed of concrete and corrugated iron. The pillbox was probably constructed in 1940 and was situated within the Abbotsbury Defence area, which at this time, was manned by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. A field visit in 1995 found that the roof was missing.

Full Description
Round type 25 pillbox, with roof missing. Although round, not a typical type 25 built with corrugated iron shuttering. Has 4 close-spaced embrasures on one side overlooking the sea. Norcon pre-cast pillbox situated on hillside with field of fire S to beach and defending 'C' classification road from coast to Abbotsbury. With PLAN drawn on form.On high ground above Abbotsbury Beach car park. <1-3>
