Full Description
(SY 59568351) "Low mound, diam 8 paces ? Tumulus". <1>
A barrow 1 1/2 miled SE of Abbotsbury church. Diameter 27ft; height 3/4 ft. (Not listed by L V Grinsell, Dorset Barrows Mss 1934-55). <2>
SY 59558363. A grass covered earthy mound situated in a valley and rather marshy ground. There is no visible ditch, and the mound has a diameter of 8.0m, and a height of 0.3m. Possibly a barrow, but its position is unusual and the close proximity of a farm track to the mound makes positive identification difficult, for it could easily be an agricultural dump. <3>
Site topograhicaly unsuitable for a tumulus. Requires excavation prior to classification. <4>
