Monument record MDO46426 - Undated pits, Winterborne Whitechurch
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Nine pits are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs to the south of the modern village of Winterborne Whitechurch. They lie in close proximity to the prehistoric ring ditches and possible enclosure described in MDO46358-60. These features are considered likely to be later prehistoric in date although a later post medieval origin cannot be ruled out. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
