Summary

A short length of stone wall observed during construction of a drive. Investigations revealed approximately two metres of curving wall made of greensand. The wall could not be dated but was thought by the excavators to be post-medieval in date.

Full Description

The remains of a Greensand stone wall 0.5 m wide and running roughly NE-SW was discovered during a small investigation by Shaftesbury and District Archaeological Group in 1976. This wall curved round to the south in its SW portion. This is probably post-medieval in date. (1)
