Full Description

Several ditched linear features within Charborough Park, Morden, are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs [1-3]. The features comprise linear and curvilinear ditches that criss cross an open area of parkland - they are not recorded on any available historic mapping and in places appear to overlie linear banked features visible on current Environment Agency lidar imagery that may be associated with a later prehistoric field system (MDO). They are probably trackways (and/or possibly field boundaries) of medieval to post medieval origin, although a later prehistoric date is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
