Summary
A small copse is marked on the OS 1st edition map as Griffith's Pit to the southwest of Hill Barn, Winterborne Kingston. A large extractive pit with associated spoil is visible under trees on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. The site is 70m across and considered to be the site of a post medieval chalk quarry.

A small copse is marked on the OS 1st edition map as Griffith's Pit to the southwest of Hill Barn, Winterborne Kingston <1>.
