A post medieval extractive pit to the south of West Wood, is visible as an earthwork on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The feature is recorded as an old chalk pit on the OS 1st Edition map [3]. It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
