A post medieval gravel pit to the southwest of Sturminster Marshall,is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The feature may be the site of a Romano-British occupation site uncovered during gravel extraction in the 1930s (MDO6149). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

A post medieval gravel pit to the southwest of Sturminster Marshall,is visible as an earthwork on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature may be the site of a Romano-British occupation site uncovered during gravel extraction in the 1930s (MDO6149). It was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
