Summary

An unannotated hollow is marked on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition map to the south of Muston Down, Winterborne Kingston; it is considered likely to be the site of a post medieval chalk pit. The hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

Full Description

An unannotated hollow is marked on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition map to the south of Muston Down, Winterborne Kingston <1>; it is considered likely to be the site of a post medieval chalk pit. The hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery <2> and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project. A second similar feature lies immediately to the west .
