Two post medieval quarries to the northwest of Newton Peveril Farm, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are shown but not named on the OS 1st Edition map and are recorded as 'old quarries' on a 1955 OS map. The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
