A series of post-medieval and modern garden features including garden walls and garden beds were recorded during archaeological evaluation and excavation by Wessex Archaeology and AC archaeology in advance of a new car park at the Westminster Memorial Hospital.

Archaeological evaluation by Wessex Archaeology in 1994 (1) and subsequent excavation by AC archaeology in 1996 (2)of the area of a proposed car park extension to Westminster Memorial Hospital, Shaftesbury revealed evidence for post-medieval and modern garden features. The garden features included several deeply cut garden beds, garden walls and other features probably associated with garden structures.
