Summary
A large copse is marked on the OS 1st edition map as Common Chalk Pit Wood at the east end of Morden Lane, Bloxworth. A large unanotated hollow is marked at the southern end of the wood on the OS 2nd edition map. The feature is clearly visible on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project; it is considered to be the site of a post medieval chalk quarry.
