It is marked as an unanotated hollow on the OS 3rd Edition map and is considered likely to be a post medieval chalk pit. It is associated with a second hollow immediately to the north; they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.

A hollow is visible as earthworks on lidar imagery to the north west of Chantell's Corner, Winterborne Zelston <1>. It is marked as an unanotated hollow on the OS 3rd Edition map <2> and is considered likely to be a post medieval chalk pit. It is associated with a second hollow immediately to the north; they were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour Catchment AI&M Project.
