A post medieval extractive pit to the southwest of Little Almer Wood, Sturminster Marshall, is visible as earthworks on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1]. The feature is considered likely to be an old chalk pit and was digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
