Monument record MDO46754 - Medieval to post medieval field boundaries, Almer, Sturminster Marshall
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Banked and ditched linear features to the south of Almer, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features form a series of narrow linear plots, completed by upstanding historic field boundaries recorded on the OS 1st Edition map. They are considered likely to also be historic field boundaries, possibly of post medieval date, although an earlier origin is also possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
