Summary
Banked linear features to the northeast of Almer, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features divide existing historic fields into a series of narrow rectilinear plots on a SE-NW axis and are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Banked linear features to the northeast of Almer, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and on current Environment Agency lidar imagery [1, 2]. The features divide existing historic fields into a series of narrow rectilinear plots on a SE-NW axis and are considered likely to be historic field boundaries of medieval to post medieval date. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
