Banked linear boundaries to the south of Newton Peveril, Sturminster Marshall, are visible as soilmarks and earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs and current Environment Agency lidar imagery. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries that form part of a rectilinear field system on a SE-NW alignment. The field system appears to be cut by a historic road recorded on the OS 1st Edition map, indicating a potentially later prehistoric to possibly medieval date. The field system might continue to the southeast (recorded under MDO46785). The features were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.
