Summary

Banked and ditched curvilinear features in fields to the east of Higher Loop Farm, Lytchett Matravers, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries and trackways of predominantly post medieval date, although an earlier origin for some features is possible.They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project.

Full Description

Banked and ditched curvilinear features in fields to the east of Higher Loop Farm, Lytchett Matravers, are visible as earthworks on 1940s aerial photographs [1, 2]. The features are considered likely to be field boundaries and trackways of predominantly post medieval date, although an earlier origin for some features is possible. They were digitally plotted during the Dorset Middle Stour AIM project. The features are no longer visible on 2021 APGB imagery.
